Still creepy after all these years - “Nosferatu” (1922)

Lon Chaney as “The Phantom of the Opera”  (1925)  the mysterious, diabolical fiend who terrorises the Paris opera house. Chaney is at his best - terrifying the viewer, yet making him sympathetic as the bizarre Phantom

Buster Keaton - the master of comedy stunt work in a clip from “Steamboat Bill Jnr”  (1927).  The climax of the film is considered to be one of the wildest ever made - the famous “cyclone” sequence featuring a dangerous building collapse over Buster himself.

An early collection of cartoons featuring the worlds greatest super-hero, Superman.  Made by the Fleischer Studios (1941 - 1943)
These cartoons are extremely well drawn and delightfully dark in character.
